We are looking for an Analytical Laboratory Technician, who is curious, rigorous, and collaborative, to join our Bio Manufacturing Sciences & Technology (MSAT) investigation lab & data team, based in Braine‑l’Alleud, Belgium.
About the role
You will perform analytical testing that supports late‑stage and commercial biologic medicines. Your work will include applying and transferring analytical methods into the laboratory, supporting process transfer and validation, verifying data quality, and in some cases evaluating new technologies. You will deliver accurate, reliable results to agreed timelines while working on approved procedures, quality standards and health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Who you’ll work with
You will join the analytical sub-team of the Bio MSAT Investigation lab team. Day‑to‑day, you will collaborate with peers who run analyses, review and release results, maintain equipment readiness, and contribute to investigations and continuous improvement across the laboratory. You will also collaborate with colleagues from In-process Analytical Sciences and Analytical Development departments, Manufacturing and Quality.
What you’ll do
- Conduct analytical testing using equipment such as liquid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis, ensuring compliant documentation within electronic laboratory notebook.
- Set up and transfer analytical methods into the laboratory.
- Verify results through peer review to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Support process transfers and validations for late‑stage and commercial biologics by providing analytical testing and documentation.
- Report out-of-specification or out-of-trend results, participate to root-cause analysis investigations to propose and implement preventive and/or corrective actions.
- Maintain equipment and facilities; ensure calibration, preventive maintenance, and safe operations
- Handle laboratory samples and consumable reception and inventory, ensuring traceability.
- Propose improvements to methods, workflows, and training.
Interested?
For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
- Bachelor’s in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related field.
- Two or more years in a quality‑focused laboratory performing analytical testing for biologics or comparable complex molecules.
- Hands‑on experience with liquid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis is a must. Other techniques applied to biologics is a plus.
- Familiarity with European, United States, and Japanese Pharmacopoeia.
- Ability to apply quality requirements and follow approved procedures.
- Proficiency in data systems for chromatography, such as Empower, and in spreadsheet and word‑processing tools.
- Effective communication in French and English; organized, curious, eager to learn new techniques; thrives in a collaborative environment.
