We are looking for Research Associate who is innovative and agile to join our in vivo Neuroscience team based in Braine, Belgium.
About the role
In this predominately laboratory-based role, you will be responsible for executing, implementing and, analyzing in vivo experiments aimed at supporting our preclinical pipeline.
The ideal candidate will hold a Felasa B or C certificate and have extensive expertise in vivo activities, with a specialization in tissue harvesting and/or behavioral studies.
Who you’ll work with
Reporting to Principal Scientist, you will work alongside other scientists within the in vivo Pharmacology group but also build strong relationships across the organization.
What you’ll do
- Conduct and analyze in vivo studies to develop, implement, characterize disease models/tests and evaluate novel therapeutics.
- Perform in vivo experiments and analyze data in a timely manner.
- Analyse and interpret experimental data to assist scientists.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and work closely with key stakeholders across our interdisciplinary research group to prioritize and execute in vivo studies.
Qualifications
- Bacchelor (laboratory technician) or master in biology, biochemistry, psychology, life science.
- Must hold a Felasa B or C.
- Experience in industry/ lab/ academic recommended.
- A solid understanding of experimental design, underlying scientific principles, and the ability to rigorously analyze and document results.
- Experience with small laboratory animals: pharmacological agent administration via IV, IP, SC, IM and PO dosing routes; handling and surgery; tissue harvesting. Experience in micro-dissection is a plus.
- Experience with data analysis software and statistical analysis.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to clearly communicate results and to maintain detailed written records.
- Experience in writing technical ethical documents.
Specific Requirements
- Working fluency in English and/or French.
- Accreditation or Certification of Regularization by Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations (FELASA B or C), or similar foreign certification.
