About the Role:
As the Head of Neuroinflammation Research Focus Area at UCB, you will lead a world-class team of researchers, driving innovative research and drug discovery activities focused on neuroinflammation. You will be an influential scientific leader, both within the company and in the industry, with high visibility and impact.
With Whom You Will Work:
You will collaborate with senior management, clinical, regulatory, intellectual property, and market access groups. You will manage a team of scientists and associates, working closely with the Head of Research BE, contributing strategically and operationally to the goals of BE Research.
What You Will Do:
- You will lead innovative drug discovery projects.
- You will be responsible for managing external collaborations.
- You will manage a team of researchers and associates.
- You will collaborate with clinical and regulatory teams.
- You will contribute strategically to BE Research leadership.
- You will occasionally interact with Excom and BOD.
Interested? For this role, we are looking for the following qualifications, experience, and skills:
- You have a PhD and postdoctoral experience; additional academic qualifications are ideal.
- You have experience in drug discovery.
- You have an extensive network in neuroinflammation and microglial biology.
- You have a strong publication track record.
- You have at least 5-8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
- You have expertise in target identification and validation in neuroinflammation.
- You have strong in vitro assay development skills; in vivo expertise is desirable.
- You have excellent communication skills and experience in academic project management.
