Team Horizon is seeking a EHS Engineering & Projects Manager for our client who are a global leader in the biopharmaceutical industry, for their Mayo site.
You will be responsible for developing and coordinating an effective EHS program for all construction projects on site as well as for engineering, facilities, and maintenance activities, to ensure the health and safety, welfare and wellbeing of our client’s employees, contractors and local community onsite.

What you will be doing:
- Lead a team of EHS professionals to develop and execute EHS plans, effectively supporting projects and engineering operations, compliance, and excellence in all aspects of EHS.
- Oversee key EHS Programs at the site, including but not limited to contractor safety; LOTO; confined space entry; hot work; work at height; ATEX; process safety; laser safety; machinery safety; electrical safety.
- Oversee environmental compliance, including environmental sampling and monitoring, spill prevention, FGas compliance, environmental sustainability.
- Partner with wider leadership team to ensure a strong embedded culture of EHS onsite.
- Deliver a strong EHS culture in areas of responsibility, fostering an accident-free work environment.
- Provide input to EHS goal setting, EHS senior management reviews and capital planning processes.
- Ensure appropriate risk assessment and mitigation in areas of responsibility.
- Collaborate with EPA and H.S.A. as appropriate regarding environmental compliance and construction operations at the site.
- Ensure effective root cause analysis and implementation of CAPAs for any EHS incidents, injuries or near misses.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly reporting in areas of responsibility
What you need to apply:
- Degree in science, engineering, or relevant field with a diploma in Health & Safety.
- 10 years relevant EHS experience with 2 years leadership/management experience.
- Experience of leading EHS on construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of EHS compliance requirements and legislation.
