Overview PM Group's Outsourced Technical Services (OTS) department are seeking a highly motivated Walkdown / Verification Engineer to support a major capital delivery programme at a leading biotechnology manufacturing facility in the Midwest region of Ireland.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting field verification activities, engineering walkdowns, documentation reviews, and ensuring that design information accurately reflects installed site conditions. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively between engineering, construction, operations, and project teams.
This role is ideally suited to candidates with a CAD, design, drafting, BIM, or technical engineering documentation background who enjoy working in both office and field environments.
- Perform field walkdowns of existing process, utility, and facility systems.
- Verify installed equipment, piping, instrumentation, and infrastructure against engineering drawings and project documentation.
- Identify and document discrepancies between field conditions and design records.
- Redline and update engineering drawings to reflect accurate site conditions.
- Coordinate with design teams to ensure modifications are incorporated into controlled documentation.
- Support as-built documentation development and verification activities.
- Generate punch lists and field observation reports.
- Maintain accurate records of walkdown findings and engineering changes.
- Liaise with construction, commissioning, maintenance, operations, and project stakeholders.
- Assist with drawing management and document control processes.
- Support site surveys and data collection activities for ongoing capital projects.
- Ensure all activities are completed in compliance with site safety and quality requirements.
Qualifications Essential
Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in:
- Engineering
- Engineering Technology
- CAD Technology
- Building Services
- Mechanical Design
- Process Engineering
- Related technical discipline
3+ years' experience in an industrial or regulated manufacturing environment.
Experience interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, equipment layouts, and technical documentation.
Strong knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD platforms.
Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
- Experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or process industries.
- Exposure to BIM, Revit, Navisworks, or 3D design tools.
- Experience supporting commissioning, qualification, or validation activities.
- Familiarity with engineering change control processes.
- Knowledge of GMP-regulated environments.
- Experience with laser scanning, digital surveys, or model verification activities.
