Overview PM Group's Outsourced Technical Services (OTS) department are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to be based on our clients site in Kilkenny to oversee the management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of facility operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all buildings, utilities, infrastructure, and support services operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
This role requires a proven Facilities Management professional with previous experience working within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device manufacturing environment where GMP compliance, EHS standards, and regulated operations are critical.
Facilities Operations
- Lead the day-to-day management of site facilities, utilities, and building infrastructure.
- Ensure the reliable operation of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, compressed air, water, and other critical systems.
- Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.
- Manage facility upgrades, refurbishment projects, and infrastructure improvements.
- Support production operations by minimizing facility-related downtime.
Compliance & Regulatory
- Ensure facilities operate in accordance with GMP, GDP, and corporate compliance requirements.
- Maintain compliance with Health & Safety legislation and Abbott standards.
- Support internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
- Ensure accurate maintenance documentation, SOPs, permits, and records are maintained.
Contractor & Vendor Management
- Manage external contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Oversee contractor safety programmes and permit-to-work systems.
- Monitor contractor performance against agreed KPIs and service level agreements.
- Manage procurement activities and facilities-related budgets.
Project Management
- Lead facilities-related capital and operational expenditure projects.
- Coordinate project teams, stakeholders, and external vendors.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Support commissioning and qualification activities where required.
Environmental, Health & Safety
- Promote a strong safety culture across all facilities activities.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
- Support emergency preparedness and business continuity planning.
- Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives across the site.
Essential Experience
Candidates must have previous Facilities Management experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device sector. Applications from candidates without experience in these regulated manufacturing environments will not be considered.
The successful candidate should have experience managing:
- GMP-regulated facilities.

Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer or relevant professional accreditation.
- Project Management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- Experience supporting cleanroom environments.
- Experience managing capital infrastructure projects within regulated industries.
