Job Description
The Service Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, testing, calibration, and quality verification of healthcare laboratory diagnostic (IVD) instruments at the repairing/refabrication center. The role includes spare harvesting, preventive maintenance, documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Technical Activities
- Diagnose and repair laboratory diagnostic instruments and modules.
- Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and functional testing.
- Carry out repair activities for returned or used instruments.
- Analyze instrument failures and identify root causes.
- Perform board-level and module-level troubleshooting.
- Conduct installation qualification and performance verification after repair.
- Ensure instruments meet operational and quality standards before dispatch.
Spare & Material Management
- Perform spare harvesting activities from non-repairable instruments.
- Maintain records of reusable spare parts and repaired modules.
- Coordinate with stores and planning teams for spare availability.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of sensitive electronic and mechanical components.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain service reports, repair logs, calibration records, and testing reports.
- Follow ISO, GMP, EHS, and company quality procedures.
- Support BIS, CDSCO, and regulatory compliance activities wherever applicable.
- Ensure traceability of repaired instruments and spare parts.
Coordination
- Coordinate with field service engineers and technical support teams.
- Support customer complaint analysis and corrective actions.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
