About this Opportunity
Reporting into the CTO, you will have overall responsibility for the direction of the R&D functions through the development of people and methodologies consistent with organizational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all operational aspects of the R&D function including:
- Product pipeline development,
- Service offering through CMO/CDMO,
- Innovation system management,
- Cost management & Continuous improvement.
- Create and implement a best practice Drug Product Development strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and enhance the speed of delivery in R&D environment.
- Lead the R&D team within Eirgen to enable the identification and delivery of products in line with the company’s strategic plans including projects identified in the CMO/CDMO space.
- Develop appropriate organisational structure, resource plans and culture, developing a high performing team that delivers innovative thinking in all elements of the extended team’s work.
- Continuously evaluate the challenges faced by the business both internally and externally and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities for growth.
- Enhance the technical and troubleshooting skills within the department; provide technical resources to other departments within the organization and foster harmonious relationships both inter and intra-departmentally, striving for best-in-class products and business delivery to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Lead a strong partnership from within Eirgen with OPKO Health to support the development of novel drugs from CMC perspective.
- Fostering innovation, not only within the R&D function but across all support functions.
- As a member of EirGen’s SLT, partner with the team to develop, implement and lead company strategy, innovation and the delivery of exemplary business performance.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory SOP, cGMP, and safety guidelines.
- Participate and represent Company in regulatory audits and inquiries.
- Develop and achieve annual budget.
- Serve as an expert for executive management regarding product development & analytical development.
- Managing multiple concurrent projects, schedules, budget and resource allocation.
- Meet and present with clients as needed to implement solutions.
About you
- BSc degree in Science or Engineering.
- Has had significant R&D experience in manufacturing operations and business.
- >10 years of pharmaceutical experience.
- Either currently hold Senior Manager level position or have held a Director level role for 5+ years.
- Must demonstrate knowledge and experience in cGMPs and relevant Safety Regulations.
- Excellent inter-personal relation skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated willingness to be on shop floor and hands on with Product Development as required.
- Strong team building and leadership skills.
- Strong task planning and project coordination skills.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced product development environment.
