About The Role
This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in establishing and scaling our new manufacturing facility in Bicester. As Manufacturing Manager, you’ll lead a large, diverse manufacturing organisation of circa 60–100 people (as part of a wider manufacturing team of over 400), while being hands‑on in bringing a brand‑new site into operational readiness.
You’ll set the tone, standards, and ways of working for the site from a manufacturing perspective — building high‑performing teams, embedding a strong safety and quality culture, and ensuring world‑class delivery from day one. Reporting into Operations leadership, you’ll act as a visible, trusted leader during a period of significant growth and change.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading, developing, and inspiring a large manufacturing team to deliver safely, efficiently, and with consistent quality
- Playing a key role in the start‑up and ramp‑up of the new Bicester manufacturing facility, shaping processes, structures, and capability
- Translating business strategy into clear operational plans, ensuring priorities, goals, and expectations are well understood
- Creating a culture of continuous improvement, structured problem solving, and operational excellence
- Ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are embedded and upheld across all manufacturing activities
- Managing production schedules, resources, and capacity to meet customer demand reliably and on time
- Working closely with cross‑functional partners to support new product introductions and process improvements
- Owning operational performance, including quality, productivity, output, and cost control
- Developing people through coaching, feedback, and performance management, building strong leadership capability within the team
What Skills And Experience You’ll Bring
- Proven experience leading manufacturing teams within a complex technical or regulated production environment.
- A track record of managing large, diverse teams and creating inclusive, high‑engagement cultures
- Experience supporting site start‑ups, expansions, or major operational change is highly advantageous
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and structured problem‑solving methodologies
- Confidence working with KPIs, visual management, and data‑driven decision‑making
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels, building trust and collaboration
- A practical, solutions‑focused mindset with the resilience to navigate ambiguity and change
- A background in manufacturing, engineering, or operations management, with relevant technical or business qualifications
