Job Description
Sourcing Engineer
Singapore
Support and implement overall Rockwell Strategic Sourcing strategy. Achieve year-on-year improvements by implementing local, regional and global supply chain projects. You will Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to agree on requirements and implement sourcing and commodity strategies.
Be a technical interface between suppliers and Business Units & Engineering, specifically on alternate sourcing, alternate material/process development and quality issues resolution. Develop supplier development programs.
You will report to the Strategic Sourcing Manager and work Hybrid in Singapore
Your Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation: Follow up on commercial contracts drafting for Cost Reduction Projects, lead negotiations for contracts and pricing, and conduct monthly Business and weekly project Reviews (Monthly Business Reviews) with suppliers.
- Drive for Delivery: Coordinate and monitor supplier performance on delivery for finished goods from supplier. Component shortages problem solving and capacity review with suppliers. Work with buyers to coordinate Finished Goods delivery fulfilment at suppliers.
- Cost Reduction & Optimization: Drive Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) projects to reduce component costs, analyze factored partner spend, and achieve cost optimization targets. Work with R&D and engineering teams to capture cost reduction opportunities, manage RFQ packages, and coordinate feasibility study and discussions between factored partner and RA team to meet quality and cost targets.
- Implementation of Productivity: Tracking of ECNs, SCNs and TGDs changes when cost reduction design changes by vendor is completed. Review with vendor on implementation on purchase order and track savings.
- Risk Mitigation & Sustainability: Monitor supplier risk regarding production capacity, financial stability, and compliance to ensure supply continuity (i.e. production tool renewal and component Last Time Buy due to EOL)
- Supplier Performance Management: Collaborate with supplier quality engineer to resolve quality related issues with suppliers and recover cost of poor quality (COPQ) for the organization.
- Special Projects and NPI project management: Work on factored suppliers NPI and special projects, by managing commercial analysis and drive for on time completion.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or engineering, often with specialised knowledge in electronic components.
- Proficiency in cost analysis, contract negotiation, supplier quality management, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Strong communication skills (often requiring English and another language), proactive, and able to work in a global, cross-functional team.
- Travel: 5~ 10%
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Regional sourcing experience in Asia Pacific.
- Knowledge of the marketplace conditions for a broad range of commodities including technology trend, supply and demand dynamics, supplier analysis, pricing and development including bench-marking
- Good experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (Sourcing, Engineering, Operations, Quality teams).
- Appreciate cultural sensitivity to manage relationships across global boundaries and time zones
- Understand and appreciate internal and external customers
