Your role at Baxter:
Provide maintenance leadership to the Facilities Maintenance Department. This position will provide highly technical mechanical and electrical system troubleshooting and repair to complex system failures. This position will also be responsible for the coordination of facility maintenance activities related to the staff at the Round Lake Drug Delivery and Penicillin buildings.
This position will direct the work of Facilities Maintenance Technicians to ensure that all PM and work orders are completed in a timely manner to minimize equipment downtime and improve system reliability. This position will assign work to mechanics and ensure the coordination of work between all shifts.
This position works closely with the maintenance manager, supervisors, planners, engineers, vendors, contractors, and customers. Must be able to communicate with upper levels of plant management concerning progress of the work or special problems that would affect production or the status of critical systems.
What you'll be doing:
- Provide maintenance project management to mechanical and electrical system issues. Develop root cause solutions to system problems resulting in continuous improvement.
- Work with maintenance planner to coordinate repairs of major equipment or system problems.
- Provide technical expertise and training to all mechanic levels.
- Oversee maintenance project work and coordinate the activities of mechanics.
- Hire and manage contract labor for small maintenance related projects.
- Coordinate system shutdowns with other departments within the facility to minimize any impact to operations.
What you'll bring:
- Must not be allergic to Penicillin or Cephalosporins.
- Experience: Ten or more years of maintenance experience is required or fice or more years with Maximo/CMM software management..
- Special skills needed in the performance of this position include experience with mechanical systems such as boilers, air conditioning equipment, chillers, air compressors, etc.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry with water for injection is preferred.
- Experience with personal computers including maintenance management systems, basic Microsoft office programs, is preferred.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $68,000 - $99.000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
