Due to the exciting growth of Corin, we are now looking to expand our Manufacturing team to be able to continue to deliver the quantity of products required to meet the worldwide demand. We are therefore looking for Instrument Manufacturing Machinists who are detail oriented, confident completing accurate documentation, good with numbers and ideally experienced with in house manufacturing systems or Sage. If you have experience in welding then we would also love to here from you!
As an Instrument Manufacturing Machinist, you will:
- Set up and run CNC machines across multiple processes and materials, including cobalt chrome, titanium, stainless steel and plastics.
- Carry out in process quality checks to ensure every part meets strict standards.
- Keep production and quality documents accurate and up to date.
- Verify, match, package and label parts so they’re ready for final inspection.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised work area with correct PPE.
- Work closely with Engineering, Quality and other shifts to keep production running smoothly.
- Use initiative to solve problems and support your team.
- Calibrate and maintain measuring equipment and complete maintenance records accurately.
- Identify and record non conforming parts in Mestec and place them in First Response with clear disposition details.
- Contribute actively to weekly Quality Circles to drive improvements.
- Perform first line checks on orthopaedic components from CNC and robotic lines
- Support Quality by raising issues, understanding NCR root causes, and helping deliver solutions.
The ideal Manufacturing Instrument Machinist will have/be;
- A solid general secondary education, ideally including GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship/qualification or relevant engineering experience.
- Accountable, quick to learn, approachable, and a strong team collaborator.
- Confident in reading and interpreting technical and engineering drawings
- Curious and eager to learn, with an interest in new machinery and lean concepts.
- Willing and able to be fully trained in our procedures (SOPs, WIs, STMs).
- Consistently follows internal Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Maintains a positive attitude and professional behaviour at all times.
Shift pattern;
Double Days – a two week rotation consisting of one week of early shifts followed by one week of late shifts.
• Earlies - 5.30am - 14:00 Monday to Thursday, 5.30am - 11am on Friday
• Lates - 13:55 - 22.25 Monday to Thursday, 16:00 - 20:50 on Friday
You will receive a 20% shift allowance in addition to your pay.
We also offer a quarterly bonus, which would be related to output, absences and right first time!
Please note, a Hepatitis B vaccination is mandatory for this position, and our Occupational Health team will provide this for you.
