Warehouse Operator (Full-time, Permanent) - Romford (Onsite)

Working hours (rotating weekly - mandatory shift pattern)
This role works a weekly rotating shift pattern (Monday to Friday). You must be able to work both shift options as the rotation changes weekly:
- 06:00am - 2:00pm and 2:00pm - 10:00pm.
About the role
We're looking for a reliable and detail-focused Warehouse Operator to join our busy Warehouse team in Romford. You'll support inbound and outbound stock movements, operate recycling equipment, and ensure products are safely stored, accurately tracked, and shipped on time-always in line with Good Distribution Practice (GDP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
You'll work closely with colleagues across Production and Planning, and liaise with external logistics partners, helping us maintain high standards of compliance, safety, housekeeping, and data integrity.
Key responsibilities
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles
- Checking deliveries for damaged or missing items and processing for storage
- Recording stock movements accurately on the ERP system (SAP)
- Operating a forklift truck to move, store and rearrange stock safely
- Picking orders using a hand-held scanner and preparing items for packing/distribution
- Supporting stock control and inventory procedures to maximise availability and minimise waste
- Ensuring safe and appropriate storage of medicines, including environmental controls
What we're looking for
Essential:
- Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) level
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Minimum 1 year experience in a warehouse environment
- Forklift experience and a valid forklift licence (Reach truck & counterbalance)
- Experience working in a process-driven/structured environment
- Comfortable using Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience using an ERP system (ideally SAP)
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and manual handling
- Good written and spoken English
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
Desirable:
- Previous warehouse experience in a GMP environment
- Good working knowledge of GDP/GMP
- NVQ Level 2+ in Warehousing and Distribution
- Knowledge of modern warehouse practices and methods
