Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbott’s Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry-leading technologies to support diagnostic testing that provides critical information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.
The R&D Senior Software Engineer – is a senior technical leader within the Infectious Disease business unit. This roleis responsible forthe secure design, implementation, and support of cloud-connected diagnostic platforms. The position requires deepexpertisein cloud architecture, cybersecurity, interoperability, and Tier 3 technical support. The role is highly collaborative, working across local and global teams to deliver high-quality, compliant, and innovative solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, QA, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Commercial) to align product development and support strategies.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (HIPAA, FDA, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, 21 CFR Part 820).
Atleast 5 years of relevant experience in software engineering or a master’s degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience.
Other qualifications/certifications:
i.Advanced experience in designing and developing complex software systems.
ii.Ability to provide guidance to junior team members.
iii.Advanced knowledge in modern programming languages such as C/C++/C# or Python & agile methodologies
iv.Advanced level of understanding of test-driven methodologies
v.Advanced level of knowledge with continuous integration & continuous development (CI/CD)
vi.Demonstrated success in technicalproficiency, creativity, and independent thought.
vii.Excellent verbal and written communication skills
viii.Ability to develop & design at the component-level
ix.Advanced level understanding of design patterns
x.Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
xi.Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities

The base pay for this position is
$90,000.00 – $180,000.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
