Arcadis DPS Engineering are a seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer for an Oil & Gas assignment located in East Cork. This is initially a 12-month contract.
Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of overseeing and closing out snags across the entire refinery site, driving issues to resolution.
- Coordinate construction activities daily, working closely with schedulers, contractors, and engineering teams to ensure seamless progress.
- Manage, organise, and safeguard large volumes of technical documentation and project records with rigorous attention to detail.
- Act as a primary point of contact for a diverse range of site personnel, building strong working relationships and ensuring clear communication.
- Deliver concise, data-driven updates in meetings, presenting project status, risks, and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Utilise software including Oracle, Power BI, and SharePoint to monitor construction progress, analyse project data, and generate reports.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues, recommending improvements and supporting best practices to enhance site efficiency.
- Balance multiple tasks and priorities in a high-volume setting, consistently maintaining quality and meeting tight deadlines.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2+ years experience in industrial construction, oil & gas, or large-scale/heavy industry engineering projects.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency with Oracle, Power BI, SharePoint, and other digital platforms.
- Exceptional organisational abilities, especially in managing documentation and workflow in a dynamic, document-heavy role.
- Positive, can-do attitude with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively as a team player with a wide variety of people on site.
