Job Description
SGS are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Laboratory Technician to join our team in Portsmith. This role is ideal for a hands-on individual with strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality analytical results. You will contribute to the smooth operation of the laboratory through accurate sample preparation, equipment maintenance, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities include, however, not limited to:
Undertake sample preparation, analysis, and reporting in accordance with established methods and procedures.
Perform laboratory equipment calibrations to ensure accurate and reliable operation.
Understand and comply with general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements.
Maintain laboratory equipment and work areas in a clean, tidy, and contamination-free condition, ensuring protection of company assets.
Report any unsafe working conditions or faulty equipment immediately to the supervisor.
Qualifications
the successful candidate will have:
Tertiary qualification in Science, preferably Chemistry, or equivalent.
Experience in a general laboratory environment preferred.
Flexibility in working hours, tasks, and willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Demonstrated ability to deliver superior results through accuracy, organisation, and commitment to quality.
