Overview PM Group requires Electrical Commissioning Engineers to support a large, multi-site hyperscale data center program across the United States. This is a true national travel role – not a single-site assignment. Engineers may be deployed to multiple locations throughout the project lifecycle depending on build stage, readiness, or commissioning milestones. Candidates must be willing and able to travel anywhere in the country based on project demands.
If you enjoy fast-paced, mission-critical work and want exposure to world-class data center environments, this is an ideal opportunity.
The Electrical Engineer will support the design, development, installation, and operations of electrical systems within a mission-critical data center environment. This role ensures high reliability, redundancy, and performance across power generation, distribution, and emergency backup infrastructure to meet 24/7 uptime requirements.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
Lead and support electrical system design for data center projects, including medium- and low-voltage distribution, UPS systems, generators, PDUs, switchgear, and grounding.
Perform load calculations, short-circuit/coordination studies, and arc-flash analysis.
Develop electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, equipment schedules, and specifications.
Support commissioning activities (Level 1–5), including witnessing testing, troubleshooting issues, and closing punch-list items.
Collaborate closely with architecture, mechanical, and controls teams to ensure fully integrated system design and operation.
Review and evaluate vendor/contractor submittals for compliance with design intent and project requirements.
Conduct field verifications, respond to RFIs, and provide technical resolutions throughout design and construction.
Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, local codes, and owner standards.
Support capacity planning, electrical reliability assessments, and upgrade planning for existing facilities.
Contribute to risk assessments, single-point-of-failure analyses, and operational readiness reviews.
