Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Scientist I to join our Analytical Sciences team. The successful candidate will lead analytical activities with a focus on HPLC and Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) methods, supporting the characterization, release, and stability testing of biopharmaceutical products. This role requires strong technical expertise, the ability to work independently, and the capacity to mentor junior team members while contributing to effective laboratory management
Responsibilities:
- Design, execute, and oversee analytical experiments using HPLC (SEC, RP, IEX, etc.) and CE (CE-SDS, icIEF, etc.) to support development and quality assessment of biotherapeutics.
- Develop, optimize, and qualify/validate analytical methods for product characterization, release, and stability testing.
- Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of platform analytical methods across the team.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide scientific guidance to team members.
- Ensure accurate data analysis, interpretation, and documentation in compliance with quality standards.
- Prepare technical reports, regulatory documents, and present findings to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Mentor and provide training to junior scientists and associates.
- Support laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, resource planning, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with Process Development, QC, and Regulatory Affairs to support project goals and timelines.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field with 2+ years of industry experience; or M.S. with 6+ years; or B.S. with 8+ years.
- Strong hands-on expertise in HPLC and CE techniques is required.
- Proven track record in analytical method development, optimization, and validation.
- Proficient in Empower software for chromatographic data acquisition and analysis.
- Experience in laboratory operations and/or equipment management is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong foundation in physicochemical analysis techniques
- Understanding of antibody and protein structural characteristics
- Familiarity with ICH/FDA/EMA regulatory guidelines and GMP/GLP laboratory practices.
- Prior experience authoring regulatory submissions (IND, BLA, etc.) is preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Salary Range for this position is 80k-128k
