Under the leadership of the Head of Data Governance, we are seeking a detail-oriented Data Quality Manager to improve the quality, integrity, and consistency of our data. The Data Quality Manager will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining a framework of data quality processes and procedures to ensure the data is accurate, complete, and reliable. This role requires a deep understanding of data quality management practices including data profiling, data cleansing, and data remediation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement data quality management strategies and plans.
- Design, implement, and support data quality standards and procedures.
- Ensure all systems, applications, and processes comply with data quality standards.
- Establish and manage data quality metrics and monitoring processes.
- Develop KPI's and KRI's for the data quality function.
- Work closely with IT and data teams to design and implement data quality strategies, standards, and procedures.
- Perform data quality activities (data quality rule creation and deployment, edit checks, identification of issues, root cause analysis, value case analysis and remediation planning).
- Manage and resolve data quality issues in a timely manner.
- Create and maintain documentation of data quality standards and procedures.
- Provide technical and business expertise in selecting data quality and governance tools.
- Develop data quality score card and dashboard.
- Conduct data quality audits and report on the results.
- Train and mentor stakeholders on data quality procedures and best practices.
Technical Skills Requirements:
- Strategic problem-solving and ability to drive creative solutions in a complex environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence without authority, motivate cross-functional teams to common goals, and drive behavior change.
- Experience with tools and technologies used for data governance, data quality and data cataloging.
- Strong analytical abilities to identify data issues and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to facilitate the integration of data from various sources and ensuring it is correctly mapped and standardized.
- Strong process management skills, including the ability to (re)define processes and conduct continuous improvement efforts.
- Understanding of the business context and how data supports business processes.
- Ability to translate business requirements into data requirements.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders with the ability to synthesize actionable recommendations.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Tableau preferred.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors in information technology, Data Science, or a related field or equivalent is strongly preferred, MBA or advanced degree a plus.
- 8+ years of work experience in data quality, data governance and data management role(s), with experience in supporting data quality management and technology functions preferred.
- Hands on experience in data quality process implementation, data management, data analysis, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of data quality management practices, including data profiling and data cleansing.
- Experience with data quality tools and software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Physical Skill Requirements:
- Position is based in Parsippany, NJ
- Travel requirement: less than 20%
