Job Title – Senior Specialist l/ll, EHS

Job Summary
Serve as site EHS Specialist I/II for a bioprocess development and manufacturing facility with a primary focus on the environmental aspects of EHS, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting sustainable practices within the organization. Support employee safety training programs.
- Responsibilites
- Communication: Interface with all site employees to provide technical support or direcrt hands assisitnace with all aspects of EHS. Provide meaningful feedback and suggestions for proper integration of EHS into business processes and projects. Be a point of contact for requests of information related to environmental issues or related concerns for the site
- Environmental Compliance: Maintain compliance with all local, state and federal environmental regulations including but not limited to wastewater / surface water, regulated and nonregulated waste streams and air emissions.
- Auditing: Conduct regular environmental audits and inspetions to identify potential risks and ensure adhearence to all policies and procedures.
- Documentation: Craft, review and modify EHS policies and procedures. Timely review and submission of all supporting documentation supplied by other departments as part of the business process. Maintain accurate records and execute timely submission of all relevant documentation to applicable AHJs as required. Sign for waste manifests.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Develop and implement initiatives amied at reducing our environmental footprint. This includes energy conservation, waste reduction and resource management.
- Training: Conduct training for employees on enviriontmal P&P, and foster a climate of environmental responsibility and adherence to best practices.
- Environmental Impact Assessments: Perform assessments for new projects or processes to provide recommendations and minimize environmental impact. Provide information on EHS management of change.
- Incident Investigation: Lead or participate in incident investigations including rootcuase and failure analysis as necessary.
- Waste Management: Maintain waste management programs for our lab and manufacturing areas.
- Emergency Response: Lead or participate in response activities as necessary, including those related to site spills or releases to the environment.

- Qualifications
- Education: Minimally bachelor’s degree in environmental science discipline or 7 years of work experience in related fields. (Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene is preferred)
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an environmental health and safety role, preferably within the biopharma or pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of environmental regulations and standards (e.g., EPA, OSHA), and experience with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Safety Management Professional (SMP), Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) are a plus.
- Skills: Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills with dynamic cross functional teams. Must work in a self-motivated, multi tasks, highly flexible, well-organized and detailed-oriented style. Proficient skills using MS Office products, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Additionally: Must be able to work in Lab setting with Biohazards /various Chemicals. Must be able to wear appropriate PPE. Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels. Ability to stand /Sit/walk for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000
